Kelly-Anne Davitt a young British painter and feminist graduated from London Guildhall University with a degree in Fine Art. shortly after she was selected by the national Portrait gallery to exhibit in the BP Portrait Award. Davitt’s current solo show Beach Balls and melons is at Dadiani Fine Art cork St. and continues until 15th September.
‘She Loves a Fat Sausage’ and ‘Hungry Hungry Hattie’ are both inspired by the bizarre nature of love/sex doll packaging. Davitt’s intention was to illuminate this absurdity and confuse the viewer by taking a grotesque sentiment and making it sweet and palatable.
